AIMEX – Asia Pacific’s International Mining Exhibition has carved out a reputation as the premier mining event in the region.

And 2017 promises to be no different, with key themes around innovation, sustainability and building great partnerships.

The free-to-attend exhibition, set to transform the Sydney Showground from 29-31 August, will see hundreds of exhibitors come together to showcase the latest products and services and new and emerging technologies within the sector.

As part of this year’s exhibition, The Future of Mining conference will see world-renowned industry leaders share opinions on the future of the industry, advancements and new processes, and insights on how organisations can better manage expenditure, increase profitability and deliver greater productivity.

"Event attendees will have direct access to engage with industry specialists via the conference program," says AIMEX Event Director Brandon Ward. "CSIRO Research Director for Hark Rock Mining Dr Ewan Sellers and NSW Mining Chief Executive Stephen Galilee are already confirmed as 2017 speakers."

This year’s exhibition will also feature The Breakthrough: an innovative platform showcasing new-to-market technologies with the ability to provide significant benefits to the mining sector.

"AIMEX is an unrivalled mining event in the region and offers visitors the chance to interact face-to-face with exhibitors, collaborate and share knowledge with one another and hear about the latest products from leading suppliers," Mr Ward says.

Here are just a handful of key discussions and leading speakers over the three days:

  • Setting the scene – Outlook for the Australian mining resources industry: NSW Mining CEO Stephen Galilee and World Coal Association Chairman Mick Buffier.
  • Case study collaboration, technology and innovation: The Bloomfield Group Chairman John Richards
  • Championing technology and innovation in a ‘new normal’ environment: CSIRO’s Dr Ewan Sellars, Mining3 CEO Professor Paul Lever, Telstra Head of Mining Services Jeannette McGill and Centennial Coal Executive General Manager Operations Excellence Steve Burgess
