Mining Family Matters Workshops
The MiningFM team is experienced at creating informative, engaging presentations for executives and employees.
We tailor presentations and workshops to individual company requirements, including professional advice and practical strategies for new employees and graduates dealing with the first few months of life in mining, oil and gas.
Our popular presentation, Mining: Making it work for your family, is a valuable addition to company induction programs. Topics include:
- Recognising that as a FIFO/DIDO family, you do face unique pressures
- What partners find most challenging about life with a FIFO miner
- How to communicate effectively to tackle the most common family pressures
- Strategies to survive and thrive as a family unit, including how to work together to raise resilient children, house rules for a happy home and tackling loneliness when you’re apart
The one-hour presentation can also include access to MiningFM’s psychologist Angie Willcocks, who workshops common issues of conflict and suggests ways to resolve potential issues.
Depending on numbers and/or tool box times, a series of sessions can be organised throughout the day.
Our range of presentations also includes What mining families really want, designed for company HR teams and executives.
Mining Family Matters director Lainie Anderson is also an experienced public speaker and conference facilitator. At AIMEX - Asia-Pacific's International Mining Exhibition, for example, Lainie chaired the Women in Mining panel discussion and psychologist Angie Willcocks offered professional advice on strategies to get ahead in male-dominated industries.
