Mining Family Matters psychologist Angie Willcocks will share her expert advice for women in mining at a special industry panel discussion at AIMEX - Asia-Pacific's International Mining Exhibition 2011, in Sydney on Wednesday 7 September.
The free, one-hour Women in Mining panel discussion, 'Opportunities, Challenges and Personal Experience' will begin at 10.30am in The Hub meeting room near the AIMEX entrance.
Other panellists include Margaret Davies, Anglo American Supply Chain Regional Manager, and Yvonne Jackson, an exploration contracts administrator, representing Women in Mining and Resources Queensland.
Wednesday's Women in Mining event forms part of a special series of AIMEX theme days focusing on key issues facing the mining and resources sector:
- Safety: Tuesday 6 September
- Women in Mining: Wednesday 7 September
- Careers and Training: Thursday 8 September
- Innovation in Mining: Friday 9 September
AIMEX is the biggest mining exhibition in the southern hemisphere and will be staged at Sydney’s Olympic Park from 6-9 September, with more than 650 exhibiting companies set to spread out over 45,000sqm. (That makes AIMEX 2011 nearly 20 per cent larger than the last event in 2007 and the largest trade exhibition - for any industry sector - ever held in Australia.)
As an additional incentive for frontline miners, each day of AIMEX will include a special "Frontliners' Focus" with free networking and social events – and there's the chance to win an Apple iPad 2 every day too.
If you're planning to attend AIMEX 2011, it's best to register in advance at www.aimex.com.au. And make sure you come and see us on stand 8104!
