To put a smile on your dial, MiningFM's wonderful online shopping guru Kathy Ranford has spent the past month hunting out 10 of the funniest (family-friendly) videos on YouTube. And her winners are ...
- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnR6IQ9-X1M - Budweiser Romantic Carriage Ride
- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=owGykVbfgUE - Old Spice Commercial ... The Man Your Man Could Smell Like
- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-L6UWk6-Hg8&feature=fvsr - Nolan Cheese Commercial (Animal lovers make sure you keep watching ... music matched perfectly)
- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ersLAocvOM - What a great idea – could have used it many times!
- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMH0bHeiRNg - Evolution of Dance, very popular and really well done
- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nx4UEe98EkY - This one cracked us all up, so I'm sure your kids will love it. My five-year-old son is still giggling every time he thinks about. Actually wish he would stop re-enacting it when we are out.
- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQcVllWpwGs - Evian babies, great animation
- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=majXJQ3vysw&feature=related - Running away from home
- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OBlgSz8sSM&feature=related - Got to love sibling love
- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5Ilq3kFxek - And they say cats are graceful?
And just a couple more ...
Check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pv5zWaTEVkI&feature=channel ... it's a very clever music video clip from group OK Go. They have followed this up with a few more really great clips and all can be found on YouTube.
And to give you a good overall look at what can be found, here are two compilation videos - the first is a compilation of 100 hilarious clips and the second is for the cat lovers (or perhaps cat haters!) Either way, it's very funny.
YouTube is not just about funny videos. It's also been the free vehicle used by many people to try and get themselves exposed (not always in the best way!) Many have gone on to become superstars after being discovered on YouTube, including one of the latest sensations (so the young girls think) ... Justin Bieber.
But it can actually be a great resource for learning all sorts of new things, too. I have used it many times to find tutorials on different techniques on Photoshop, which can be difficult to work out on your own. There are thousands of them, from cooking demonstrations to making paper origami items. Like most things in life, some are better than others and you do need to sort through some crap to get to the useful and good stuff! Despite this, there really is a lot of great things you can learn from the many videos and tutorials to be found online.
