Featuring new expert information to boost the emotional resilience of workers, the updated edition comes as the Australian mining industry increasingly shines a light on the mental health of FIFO workers.
It also coincides with our new partnership with Wesley LifeForce Suicide Prevention Networks. Together we've created the Rock Solid Suicide Prevention Program, aimed at building resilience and preventing suicide among workers in the male-dominated resources industry, while also arming families with practical strategies to survive and thrive the challenges of working away, long hours on the job or shift work.
Our original Survival Guide for Mining Families was launched in April 2011 and we've since sold nearly 120,000 copies to companies across Australia and around the world.
The 32-page, updated edition features much more comprehensive information on emotional resilience, with 14 chapters including:

The handy, A5 guides are recommended for use as an induction tool for new employees, and also to reinforce support for existing workers. They contain key Mining Family Matters advice from our psychologist Angie Willcocks, as well as really practical ideas to improve parenting, relationship and life skills.
