Working Away: A Survival Guide for Families is a clever little resource tool for companies keen to support employees who work away from their loved ones.

Based on MiningFM's original Survival Guide for Mining Families, it features professional advice and practical tips for keeping relationships healthy and families happy.

The 32-page, A5 guide is aimed at companies for distribution to both new and existing employees. It’s friendly, frank and above all, practical.

Written by our resident psychologist Angie Willcocks and MiningFM creator Alicia Ranford, it includes information most commonly requested by families on www.miningfm.com.au. Chapters include:

  • What to expect in the first few months
  • Helping kids to cope
  • Sharing time and avoiding conflict
  • Dads and discipline
  • Tackling loneliness when you’re apart
  • Are you making excuses about sex?
  • Identifying stress and depression

The launch of Working Away: A Survival Guide for Families  follows the huge response to our Survival Guide for Mining Families (we launched the guide in March this year and have now sold more than 23,000 copies to mining and resources companies across Australia).

With more Australians now working away from home, we've also begun to receive requests from companies and individuals outside mining and resources.  So this new guide was born – to help families handle the pressure of one partner working away from home, regardless of the industry.

Prices (excluding GST & shipping) are listed below. Company co-branding opportunities are also available.
