About Us
Alicia Ranford: Creator/director of Mining Family Matters. She’s a registered nurse, mother of two and mining wife. Alicia and her mining engineer husband Joe moved six times in a decade, so she's an expert at relocating a young family, coping with life in isolated mining towns and staying happily married despite the challenges of FIFO mining. Above all, she knows that mining can be an enormously positive lifestyle choice if families learn to cope with the industry’s unique pressures.
Lainie Anderson: Director of Mining Family Matters. She’s the lead columnist in Adelaide’s Sunday Mail and has more than 20 years’ experience in journalism, public relations, website editing and marketing. She is also a wife and mother of two, and writes regularly in her column about the pressures of modern-day relationships and motherhood.
Angie Willcocks: MiningFM’s resident psychologist. She has extensive experience in tackling issues such as depression, anxiety, grief, postnatal depression and relationship difficulties. Angie currently runs a private practice in Adelaide, counseling men, women, children and couples. She gained a Bachelor of Health Sciences degree (with First Class Honours) in Psychology from the University of Adelaide, and also has a Masters of Counseling Psychology degree from Macquarie University in Sydney.
Kathy Ranford: MiningFM's online expert. Kathy grew up on a farm at Dark Peake on SA’s Eyre Peninsula, spending time in Adelaide before marrying a local farmer and ending up living about 40 minutes away from where she grew up! She’s a busy full-time mum with four school-aged children, obsessed with crafts, chickens (she breeds Bantams), photography and unearthing great new websites on the internet.
Therese Lardner: MiningFM's careers specialist. Therese is an industrial and organisational psychologist with extensive experience in everything from recruitment and selection to development, employee engagement and career transition. Currently working for Lee Hecht Harrison in Brisbane, Therese gained a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) from Queensland University of Technology and also has a Masters of Organisational Psychology from the University of Queensland.
